Valadez Organic Produce

Valadez Organic Produce is a family-operated, Oregon Tilth Certified Organic farm, on roughly 40 acres of land just outside Myrtle Creek.

You can find the family, including the kids either seeding, weeding, planting, or picking just about every day.  You will also find their products year-round at the Umpqua Valley Farmers Market and seasonally at the Canyonville Farmers Market.

They are also very involved in community events and support all the schools in the area. Here are pictures of the pumpkin patch and where they brought the pumpkins to Tri City Elementary so every child had an opportunity to pick a pumpkin in the school field.

I had the honor of talking with Buddy and his amazing children a couple of days ago. I was totally amazed by how awesome each of them was to chat with. I wanted to share a little of the wonderful story that totally touched my heart behind this family-run business that’s making a difference in their community…

Buddy began growing watermelons years ago so he’d have them for the people he worked with. He put out some seeds the first year and got a hundred melons, and they turned out awesome. He decided then and there to keep growing and kept adding to the garden so he could grow good organic food and share it with others.

His wife and family worked hard with him and they were able to buy a farm. Then they bought the farm next door!

Now, during the summer you will find their organic produce, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes all along the Pacific Northwest in grocery stores. They also offer year-round CSA shares, and several stores in Eugene carry their produce weekly. They grow an amazing variety of lettuces. And, have a deep dedication to the work they do:

Bringing our passion of farming, from our farm to your table.”

Since they are located halfway between Eugene and Medford, it’s worth a stop by if traveling through. You might want to follow them on Facebook too since there’s always something going on at the farm! I see they have a post today: We have more produce boxes available this week! Lacinto kale, curly kale, collards, onion, chard, peppers, leek, beets and winter squash $25 a box.
