NETFLIX RAISES THE PRICE OF ITS MOST POPULAR PLAN 
Netflix has introduced price hikes for its US subscribers today, increasing its standard plan to $14 a month and its premium tier to $18 a month.

MICHAEL MYERS RETURNS IN ‘HALLOWEEN KILLS’ TRAILER 
Laurie Strode is coming back with a vengeance in Halloween Kills, the latest sequel in the Halloween franchise. In a new clip released Thursday, Strode — played by Jamie Lee Curtis — is seen battling Michael Myers as her family is forced to confront the psychotic and murderous masked serial killer yet again. John Carpenter’s original 1978 movie introduced audiences to Michael Myers, a lethal mental patient who wrecks havoc on the fictional town of Haddonfield, Illinois, after escaping from prison on Halloween night. • VIDEO

… Halloween Kills will come to theaters on October 15, 2021. A direct follow-up, Halloween Ends, is scheduled to debut October 14, 2022.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON AND COLIN JOST ARE MARRIED 
Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost of SNL are married. The news was shared Thursday but the wedding happened last weekend.

The actress and comedian confirmed their engagement back in May 2019, with Scarlett later sharing that her partner took a note from James Bond’s book for the proposal. “He killed it. He did, like, a whole James Bond situation…it was surprising. He’s got a lot behind that news desk that he’s hiding.”

… This is Scarlett’s third marriage. The actress was previously married to Ryan Reynolds and Romain Dauriac. Colin previously dated actress Rashida Jones.

PAUL RUDD HANDS OUT COOKIES TO VOTERS 
Paul Rudd showed his appreciation to Brooklyn residents braving the rain and chilly weather to stand in a long line to vote by providing a sweet pick-me-up. The Marvel star was handing out cookies to voters Thursday morning in NYC, telling each person, “Thank you for coming out and voting.” Paul — wearing a mask — was accompanied by a cookie-man with a backpack who was supplying him with the treats to disperse as they made their way down the line.

ROB LOWE HAS A NEW BEVERLY HILLS ADDRESS 
On the heels of the widely publicized sale of their aristocratic estate in the celeb-saturated seaside enclave of Montecito, California, Rob Lowe and Sheryl Berkoff have now plunked down $3.75 million for a substantially smaller and radically more contemporary home nestled deep into one of the ritzy canyons above Beverly Hills. They’re moving from a home that they sold for $45.5 million.

NEW DOCUMENTARY ON THE BEE GEES AIRS DECEMBER 12 
On a Saturday night this December, you can relive Saturday Night Fever by watching a new documentary on The Bee Gees.

The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart will debut on HBO and HBO Max on Saturday, December 12.  It traces the career of Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb — from their start in the early ’60s, to their journey to the top of the charts in the ’70s, to their continued chart success in the ’80s, both as a group and as writers and producers for other artists.

… The doc includes never-before-seen footage of recording sessions, concerts, TV appearances and home videos, and interviews with the only surviving member of the trio, Barry, as well as archival interviews with Robin and Maurice, who died in 2012 and 2003, respectively.

… In addition, the documentary includes interviews with Eric Clapton, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Noel Gallagher of Oasis, and Nick Jonas.

MICHAEL BAY’S COVID-19 THRILLER “SONGBIRD” CRITICIZED 
The first trailer for Songbird, produced by Michael Bay, was released Thursday to much criticism. Songbird takes place in 2024, where COVID-19 has mutated to COVID-23 and the world is in its fourth year of lockdown. The trailer shows images of notable places in the U.S., now mostly occupied by soldiers and armored vehicles ready to shoot civilians who violate lockdown orders. The U.S. death toll in the movie’s setting has reached over 8 million for the year alone, while the worldwide coronavirus death toll is now over 110 million. • VIDEO

… The trailer was deemed “tone deaf” by many on Twitter who thought it was bad timing to make a movie about a deadly pandemic when we’re still in the middle of a current pandemic.

… No word on a release date. The film stars mostly unknowns, though Bradley Whitford, Craig Robinson and Demi Moore are in it.

BIG BROTHER RENEWED FOR SEASON 23 AT CBS 
The 23rd season of Big Brother has been announced and will air next summer. Julie Chen Moonves will return as host.

BRAD PITT AND GIRLFRIEND NICOLE POTURALSKI BREAK UP 
Brad Pitt and German model Nicole Poturalski have split. A source says the couple, who were first spotted together in August, are “totally over.”

NICOLE KIDMAN TO STAR IN AMAZON DRAMA SERIES “THINGS I KNOW TO BE TRUE” _ Nicole Kidman will star in and executive produce the drama series Things I Know to Be True, which has been ordered to series at Amazon Based on the play of the same name (by Andrew Bovell), the series is said to be about the resilience of an enduring marriage and the evolving nature of a family’s love, as Bob and Fran Price watch their adult children make unexpected decisions which change the course of their lives.

TINY TOONS IS BEING REBOOTED 
Babs, Buster Bunny and the rest of the Tiny Toons gang will be back for a reboot of the ’90s three-season syndicated animated series Tiny Toon Adventures. The new series will air on HBO Max.

ELLEN POMPEO SAYS GREY’S ANATOMY MIGHT END THIS SEASON 
Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is in the last year of her current contract and says this season could be the hit drama’s last. Pompeo says, “We don’t know when the show is really ending yet. But the truth is, this year could be it.

… (CAUTION) The Grey’s star and co-producer also hopes that post-COVID, TV shows will maintain their less stressful production schedule. Pompeo says that the pandemic should serve as a wake-up call that long hours hurt the actors: “Nobody should be working 16 hours a day, 10 months a year — nobody … it’s just causing people to be exhausted, pissed, sad, depressed. It’s a really, really unhealthy model. And I hope post-COVID nobody ever goes back to 24 or 22 episodes a season…”
